Enjoyed coming here. The food was delicious. I agree with most of the comments from others , a quiet, elevated sushi experience. The lunch set was what we had and the nigiri was very fresh. Perfect sake pairing as well. Would recommend for a nice date night/lunch or if I wanted to show someone what nice sushi in Vancouver is all about

Came here for lunch with a friend. We shared the crudo, steak tataki, bluefin roll, super tuna roll, and king BC roll between two people. Everything was decent. The fish tasted fresh and the ingredients seemed to be of good quality. But to be honest, nothing really stood out. We also found it a bit pricey for what we got, and we didn’t feel full afterward. Maybe the lunch set which the staff recommended would’ve been a better choice.

**Sushi Hill — Second Visit Review** On my second visit to Sushi Hill, we decided to skip the chef’s specials and order straight off the menu this time. A mix of rolls, appetizers, and salmon sashimi made up the meal, along with a refreshing garden roll. The bill came to about $50 per person, totalling over 150$ before tax and tips. While the ingredients were clearly fresh — especially the salmon — the rolls themselves felt on the smaller side and lacked the flair or flavor depth I remembered from the chef’s selections. Presentation was neat, but overall, the à la carte experience felt a bit underwhelming compared to their curated offerings. Still, it’s a reliable spot if you value clean flavors and fresh sourcing over portion size. Service was very good.

My favourite Japanese restaurant in Vancouver. I’ve visited Sushi Hil multiple times over the years and will continue to return. It isn’t cheap by any means but still reasonable and well worth the price. The quality of ingredients is incredibly high and always fresh, paired well with excellent and attentive service. Highly recommend the bluefin tasting! We experienced a minor issue during our latest visit but Chef Hil was quick to rectify the situation and generous in his remedy. Truly deserving of another year of being Michelin recommended.

Booked Sushi Hil to try their Michelin-recommended Japanese food, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Sitting at the counter was like watching a live show — the chefs’ skills and precision are amazing. The sushi was excellent, with incredibly fresh fish and perfectly seasoned rice that’s more than just sweet and sour. Every piece was balanced and matched beautifully with the seafood. Highly recommended! Reservation is must.

Food was really delicious, best oyster motoyaki i’ve ever had in my life. The only one thing I will criticize is that i was there with my gal friend, and when we asked to order 2 chirashi dons the server looks at us and says “are you sure? Are you both really hungry? 2 orders might be too much for you both”. I was stunned because why does a restaurant on michelin guide think they serve big portions? A typical expensive restaurant like this would not be generous with the portions but also denying diners what they want to eat was a big turnoff. I had to reiterate multiple times yes 2 portions of chirashi please before she took the order and as expected it wasn’t that much food.

This is the kind of restaurant that makes you add Japan to your bucket list (if it wasn't already on it). You can tell they take great care in the preparation of each dish using only the very freshest quality ingredients. In a city where there is a sushi restaurant on almost every street, Sushi Hil is definitely a gem.
